What a brilliant idea to bring Monopoly, the classic board game, onto computers and TVs everywhere. In my experience, board games are on their way out. Nobody ever wants to play them with me anymore. But that could just be me….
Anyways, creating this multiplayer game is a brilliant and simple way to introduce the game and brand to a completely different demographic. When playing multi-player, or just on your own if still nobody will play with you, its going to be a blast.
There is no set release date quite yet, but since it was just announced yesterday I suppose we should give them some time. The game promises to be very interactive, colourful, and with some surprises up their sleeve, I doubt EA will disappoint.
These are my guys who brought us The Sims, so I know they will do an excellent job. I think it was a great move to tap into a new market of fans. Those young kids who are hooked on computer games have most likely never played Monopoly, and this, in my opinion, is a travesty. It is one of my favourite games and I am very much looking forward to its release.
